Colaiste Iosagain Students Portarlington raise 300 euro for meals on wheels
Glee is an after school activity held in Colaiste Iosagain for all the students in the school who would like to attend. The Glee club is run by Mr. C. Mitchell and Ms. C. Hogan who are both teachers in the school. There are about forty to fifty students who participate in the after school activity on a Wednesday evening from four to five o’clock. The members range from first to sixth year students and everyone attending Colaiste Iosagain is welcome to come every week.
The week before Christmas the Glee group from Colaiste Iosagain performed in the Anvil Inn to collect money for the Meals on Wheels charity organised by Neil Coffey. The night was a great success and a big crowd attended raising 300 euro for the Meals on Wheels.
Glee is a great interactive group where students get to sing, dance and play instruments in a group and perform solo’s. The students of Glee make their school very proud of the wide range of talents that exist among the students in the school. The Glee group are very enthusiastic and hope to perform a small show at the end of the year to raise money for a charity. The Glee club would not be possible without the co-operation and dedication of both Mr. C. Mitchell and Ms. C. Hogan, and the students themselves.
