Mental Health Awareness Day

Last Tuesday there was a school wide Mental Health Awareness Day .There were a number of interesting events .Students were asked to wear old socks or shoes and buy a badge (orange , the theme colour for the day ) to donate towards the Walk in My Shoes young people’s mental health charity .

Pictured below First Year , Katie Weldon shows her colours proudly!

An internet security specialist gave a talk to students which was certainly informative .
There was a debating competition in which a First Year was integrated into each of the TY teams of four members .

One of the TYs , Roisin Fenlon ,who had spent some time on work experience in St. Patricks mental health hospital gave a great talk on a broad spectrum of issues.

Teacher Conor Booth also displays the orange stripes that students and teachers wore to show their support for mental health awareness
