The Department of Education and Skills introduced a New framework for Junior Cycle on a phased basis from September 2014. The rational underpinning the new Junior Cert is to enable learners to achieve their full potential and contribute to Ireland’s economic, social and cultural development. As a progressive 21st century school here in Coláiste Iosagáin we are working on updating our curriculum and developing the programme we offer at Junior Cycle.

- French/German (Students sample both and choose at Halloween break in First Year)

(Students pick three after a Subject Taster Day that takes place before the students start First Year.)

We have a full range of subjects. Students sit 10 subjects for the Junior Cycle Examinations.
Students will carry out Classroom Based Assessments in 2nd & 3rd Year.

Gaeilge, English & Mathematics are offered at both Higher and Ordinary Level.
