We had 181 Leaving Certificate Established students and 23 Leaving Certificate Applied students sit the State Exams in June.
Catherine Kuchynska with 578 points was our best result in the Leaving Certificate Established, closely followed by Mark Douglas with 577 points. Other exceptional results in the 500 points category were achieved by Rachel Fossit, Ali Bennett, Navroop Kaur, Michael Ratajczyk and Colm McGee. Ten students received 500 points or more while twenty students received 450 points or more.
Once again the Leaving Cert Applied results were excellent with over half of the group achieving distinctions. Roisin O’Reilly received the highest mark with 98%, closely followed by Rebecca Donagher on 96% with Natalia Dolan and Callum David Murphy on 90%. This means that once again a number of our LCA students are in line to receive the Fergal Quinn National Award for excellence.
These results are a testimony to the hard work of all our students who should be very proud of their excellent achievements. I would also like to acknowledge our hard working staff who are willing to go the extra mile for our students. While it is important to acknowledge those that achieved high points we are extremely proud of the results across the board. Congratulations to all our students and their families. Despite the fact that the results were available online it was lovely to see so many of our students coming into the school to collect their results.
We look forward to welcoming our First Year group of almost 240 students starting their post primary journey this day week. This year our student enrolment will be over 1200 highlighting more than ever our need for a new building.
