As Principal, I would like to welcome you to our website, which I hope will give you an insight into school life here in Coláiste Iosagáin, Portarlington.
Coláiste Íosagáin is a Voluntary Catholic Secondary School under the trusteeship of CEIST, Catholic Education, An Irish Schools Trust. Our school is a co-educational school with a current enrolment of 1100 students. We hope you get a flavour of the diversity of activities and events that take place in our school from this web site.
The philosophy of the school eminates from our Mission Statement and the five CEIST values. We encourage co-operation between all partners in education as well to develop close links with the local community. We strive to be a school of academic excellence with a strong emphasis on the provision of a holistic education. The school encourages and resources new teaching methodologies which will enable more student centered teaching across the school and therefore better outcomes for the students in our care.
